Two Christmases

We were so lucky this year that we were able to spend time with both families. We took off right away on Saturday the 19th after dropping Logan and Bear off at the "doggie hotel." Adeline was great in the car once again, although this time she was starting to get a little more particular about what videos she watched. We spent one evening at Grandma Volmer's which was really special, although Adeline started throwing up which lasted about 36 hours. Next we made it to Kansas City. Of course, Buddy the Elf made the trip to keep his eye on Adeline...

While in Kansas City, we were able to track down Santa Claus. We had quite the "Santa Experience!" While we were there, two different kids threw up (thankfully not ours). After waiting for more than half an hour, Adeline was finally brought back to see Santa. The family before us was just finishing up their visit. Adeline burst into tears at the realization that she had to wait longer!! So the puffy eyes in the picture are not because she was afraid of Santa, but because she didn't want to wait. She asked Santa for a robot and a Backyardigans DVD. Santa came through!

Adeline had a lot of fun getting spoiled by Mimi and Papa Jack. She got a toy laptop and was promptly checking her email. She also got lots of cute new clothes! We were glad to get to spend some time with Grandma Jansson as well.

We then went to Bartlesville where all of the Volmers were able to get together for Christmas. 15 people in a five-bedroom, four-bathroom house wasn't too bad...although after being snowed-in for a few days, we were all feeling a little like this:

This is what the living room looked like after the gifts were all unwrapped. If you look closely, you can see Adeline's robot sitting on the fireplace.
We had a great time this Christmas and were so lucky and blessed to get to spend time with all of our family!
